Fifa 11 Ultimate team ps3: The 59th minute experiment - Does it really work and just how patient do you have to be?

Now i'm sure a lot of you reading this have heard of the 59th minute rule in Fifa Ultimate Team. I'll be honest, i was completely unaware of it until i read a few hubs by Warchild75 earlier on this year. Even after hearing about it though i never really dabbled in it for
long enough. I would try it for a few minutes and then move on. If you aren't aware of it then basically what you have to do is hang around the 59th minute of the trading market and hope that someone makes a mistake by underpricing a player, giving you the chance snap them up for a cheap Buy It Now price. Anyway, the other day i decided to try it out properly armed with a shed load of coins and the trusty Nokia to get some photo's of bargains, hopefully get some good deals for myself and more importantly try to answer the question 'Is it really worth all the hassle?' Here are some of the best deals i found during the 1 hour long experiment on the 59th minute rule.

The first 5 minutes or so were relatively quiet. The first sniff of a bargain was Pedro of Barcelona who i managed to pick up for 3,750. I had seen him going for 5k earlier in the day so not too bad. Nothing spectacular, but still a good chance for a profit.
Next to come along, not too long after pedro was Miccoli of Palermo who seemed to be going for between 4 and 5k at the time, although i had seen some cheaper. I picked him up for 3050 and was confident of getting at least 1k profit from selling him on. Steady purchases at the minute but i was hoping something better was just around the corner.
When i saw Malouda (Chelsea) up for 11.4k i decided to snap him straight away. I was confident that i'd get 14/15k from selling him on so it was a pretty easy decision. Best purchase yet.
When Nani came on the market for 9k i tried but failed to get him. I Just wasn't quick enough to be fair i but wasn't too downhearted even though he would have been a half decent bargain.
I then managed to get 3 players quite close together. Hamsik of Napoli for 3k, and 2 x Samuel (Inter) for 4950. I was hopeful of making at least 1,000 on Hamsik and very confident of making at least 2/3k (maybe more) on each Samuel.

The next to come on the market was Di Maria of Real Madrid. I'm sure i don't need to tell you that at 4,000 he would have been a steal so i was gutted when i was a fraction too late and missed out. I think he lasted around 7 seconds on the market
However i didn't need to wait much longer until another great opportunity presented itself. If you dilly dally at the 59th minute you lose out so when Dzeko came on the market at 1,250 i needed to be extremely quick. There always seems a tense couple of seconds wait until you find out if you have got him. When i found out i did i was delighted. He was on the market for a grand total of 5 seconds. Finally some real action.
At the time it seemed like Podolski could fetch 4/5k quite easily so when he came up for 2,200 i tried but failed to get him. Still, it was yet another sign that the 59th minute rule works.
At the time of this experiment, Pepe (Real Madrid) was not on the market for less than 9,000 BIN so when he came up at 6.5k there was a mad scramble to sign him up. Sadly it was another one i missed out on.
An In Form Guberti of Sampdoria then came on the market for 1950 so i decided to take a gamble and take him straight away. I didn't know how much he was going for as i'd never checked before,but when i had a look afterwards most seemed to be going for around 5k, so another good bargain.
Then came along my old friend Dzeko for 4,000. Not as cheap as last time but would pretty much guarantee over 100% profit. This time though i wasn't quick enough as someone beat me to him. Gutted.
The last bargain to be had before the experiment was finished was Hulk (Porto) for 4,300. I'd seen him going for no less than 7k in the days before so i was chuffed when i managed to win the race for him.

So they were the best results from the experiment. I actually spent 120k on 29 players in the hour long stint. It was a lot more than i was planning on but i just couldn't help myself. I also bought the likes of J.Cesar for 20k and sold him 26.5k and Gourcuff for 3,500 and sold him for 5.5k amongst many others. Out of the players above i managed to sell the likes of Dzeko for 10.5k, Samuel for 9.5k, another Samuel for 6.5k, malouda for 16.5k, Hulk for 7k so it definately proved to be a profitable hour. Overall i have predicted that i would make around 80k from all 29 players and whilst i didn't see a bargain like Rooney for 6,000 (like i've seen elsewhere on the web) i did find plenty of good ones and i think it's definately worth doing if you have a few coins to play with.The only drawbacks are how long it takes to get there (30 mins for me) and how quick you have to be to get the player. If you ever played the card game Snap when you were a child then i'd say that's the best way to tell you what it's like. It's just one big scramble but a real buzz when you manage to pull off a real bargain.

I got them all by 59 minute and i hope there are some profits in between

fj2650: I've managed to check on one or two for you mate. cech seems to be mainly on the market for around 7/8k, IF elmander is a weird one one. His price seems very erratic. I've seen him range from 5k to 24k so i haven't got a clue what to tell you with him. Reyes seems to be mainly up for between 2.5/3.5k, same for lavezzi. Niang seems to be up for between 2 and 3k although i have seen him available for 1.5k. Riise as a LWB is up for mainly between 2 and 3k but as a LB i didn't see any lower than 6k. Hope that helps mate.

dave: It's hard to say mate. I can only really tell you what works for me at the time. Just lately i've been picking cassano up for around 2k and selling him easily for 4.5k. kiopo: Difficult to say with inform players, especially new ones but looking at the market i'd be looking to get around 240/250k for him. Lowest one i've seen is 200k BIN and the highest is 900k BIN.

Play a couple of matches mate and build your way up slowly buying and selling players like wilshere. You'll soon be dealing in the big players if you do that i'm sure.

Mick: You could well be onto something there mate. He is out for Man City and going for around 50k as opposed to the wolfsburg one for 10k so there could definately be a few mistakes when people list him.

Some nice bargains there mate the best one i got was IF Mata for 15K who i traded for Forlan who i then traded on for IF Barry CM IF Enrique LB and IF Kaboul who i sold for 75K for the lot so that was a good 60K for half an hours work
name: Seems like you are going for a serie A/Italian side so i'd recommend Cassano (84 ov) for CF. Can be picked up for 3.5k or below on occassions. Cambiasso seems quite cheap. Last time i looked you could pick him for 5k or below. Maybe balotelli (81 0v) from man city if you can get him for less than 5k. Walter samuel always seems to go for quite cheap too.
I'll be honest though mate some of those i have mentioned i haven't looked at just lately and with prices dropping recently i'd check them efore you buy as you might get them for cheaper than i have said.
